Rough day at the track on Saturday

At least it started out that way -

A guy with a carrera gt POPPED his battery as he was charging it before the first session. battery acid went everywhere all over his pretty carbon fiber - I was just walking by - I said - I would definitely get that wiped up and neutralized quickly. He looked a little confused.

It has been over a year since my last DE {new house/selling another/ cost/ etc}

Started out my first session and the control button on my video camera came off in my hand before the first session. No video today...

Oh well, probably best as I drove like a$$ - so rusty - and this was my first time on my Hankooks {I left my RA-1's at home figured it would be best for me to get back in the groove with streets}

Well the Hankooks were great until their first heat cycle - then went from great to really greasy - I was all over the course - got the back end out on a few corners - 3/4 into the session - black flag comes out - it's over - what happened?

Well the son of the guy with the carrera GT stuffed his 997 into turn 2 - hard - the drivers side rear wheel was probably indented 10-12 inches and tucked up under the car - he moved the wall in two places - so everybody gets to wait. So they definitely had a bad day.

My 2nd session I decided to slow down and smooth out - get my line sorted out and guess what - I ended up getting faster.

3rd session I went out with the instructors and was holding my own - so feeling MUCH better. I do feel like I am getting alot of body roll - but really want to quell the urge of making my car into more of a track car - must resist!

I went out again with a friend of mine who's an instructor - Good guy - my lines were his (except for 17) he helped me on braking points - I need to get on mine harder and off faster to settle the car - my other friend broke his clutch.

Sweet car from saturday (also towed in)

This guy showed up in the green group - can you imagine instructing in this?

Aerial at speed

This was the most shiney I have seen a car at DE - the paint glowed (and the guy that drove it was fast too)

Last picture - you know there is something very satisfying about doing track prep on your car - you inspect all the major systems and know when you are done that it's operating at a high level of efficiency.

Will a bigger rear sway help me flatten the car out a little more? Stock is on there now.

Bigger rear sway will make the car more tail happy.
