Wink Beddor Farewell

To my Pelican friends and supporters,

After a rewarding and wonderful 14 years representing RUF, I have unwound my contract with Alois. I am going to miss meeting fellow enthusiasts at tracks through out the country, and I am also going to really miss driving the CTR2sport…such an awesome car!

I’ve posted many of my in-car videos from various tracks on YouTube, the most recent of which shows the CTR2 hanging with a couple mighty Ferrari 333SPs:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaJYLEvkQBg

To see a list of other in-car videos from this CTR2, to the right of either of the above videos just click on “More from: YellowbirdCTR,” or type “Steve Beddor” into YouTube’s search box. The most popular is the bumper camera footage from the Pikes Peak Hill Climb, the most controversial is the RUF pulling past a F40LM, and my personal favorites are the "Greatest Starts" series. Enjoy!

If anyone's interested in this car, it is on display in the showroom of the RUF Auto Centre in Dallas:

I've been in motorsports for 25 years, and its been a great ride!

Best regards,
Steve Beddor

Hi Steve
We met upmteen years ago when your family just started sponsoring the Virginia City Hillclimb for the Ferrari Owners Club. (my brother and i were running a 74 Carrera with a "few" mods)
It was great seeing the big rig with all the Audi Quattros for the event.

You've been an asset to Ruf and motorsports and will be missed

All the best and thanks for sharing the videos !!

Steve,

Meeting you and sharing your stories and enthusiasm was a high point of RR II and III for my three sons and me. Best wishes.

Good luck to you in all that your future holds Steve, I for one will never forget meeting you and having the opportunity to take the ride of my life up the Virginia City Hillclimb.

Thanks and best of luck.

I'm another Virginia City Hillclimb alum that has fond memories of the Beddor family. Was it you or your brother that would parachute in at the start of the event? I remember your mom did a pretty good job driving. Good luck on your next endeavor.

Beddor Farewell

Yep that's back when I drove an Audi Sport Quattro at VC, I jumped in one of the film crew's helicopters and had him bring me up to 8,000 feet and bailed out over the start line. It was a great way to get the juices flowing before a run.

As a guest, I didn't want my host, the Ferrari Club, to feel upstaged, so I put on Amir's racing suit and made a "Ferrari" jump as Amir's stuntman as well.

Good luck to you, thanks for posting the vids. That is an awesome car. Alois seems like a great guy, I met him at a couple of PCA DE's I ran in the DFW area, that RUF Auto Centre sponsored. You are indeed fortunate to have experienced what you have.

I'm out in my garage watching the NASCAR Pocono race, having a Boddingtons and an illegal smoke (Cuban-not weed!) and it was great watching your Pocono video mixing it up with the "red cars".
