POC GCR's; are Toyo RA1's "race" tires?
I'm trying to figure out the classification of my car for the POC STS series. I think I'll be in "V", but I'm doing the points for prepared, just in case.
If the Toyo RA1's are considered "race" tires, it's a 6 point hit. Can anyone confirm if they are indeed considered "race" tires? Thanks!

No.
DOT R tires are not considered race tires by POC. Slicks are race tires.

Hell, you'll probably be in V just because of the light weight alone, might as well get race tires and go big!

Thanks guys.
Here starts the slippery slope.....if I go with slicks, I'll have to trailer my car. If I trailer my car, I'd probably want a better tow rig ![]() -b

tires
you can always start with a streetable race tire like the Kuhmo Victoracer or Nitto. As you get more competitive you can worry about Hoosiers etc and then think about a trailer. Many guys including me did it this way for a long time.

Thanks for the reply. I should probably at least start the STS before I start thinking trailers
