Sorry, photos were too large. I'll try and reduce them.

X brace(s) still need to go up front after master cylinders and fuel cell are in.

Opinions?

Get rid of the lower dash in favor of the Rennline piece.

Who's building it for you? Mild steel or chromoly (or whatever it's called). What year tub?

You guys are going to make me completely un-competative with my fat Turtle. I'll be forced to spend next year's bonus on getting a proper cage and further weight reduction.

-Griggs Racing up at Sears Point did the cage. Car goes to JWE tommorow for more work. I'll finish it up the easy stuff.

Fastbacker, great shots! It gives me some ideas on future projects with my SC. What color will you paint it?

Tom, I still love the Turtle.

That's a proverbial "ship in a bottle!" Looks strong, stiff and safe.

Hopefully will see you out there one day.

Nope. Griggs Racing desinged and built the cage.

The interior, engine compartment, rollcage and front trunk area will be a kind of gun barrel grey. The dash and rear deck will be black to cut down on reflective glare. JWE will have all that done in about week.

I recently ordered 74 RSR body work. Not sure what color I'll paint the exterior. Probably something a little obnoxious.

I'd be interested but the ball joints on my struts will not clear a 16 inch rim. I have to run 17 inch rims (turbo brakes).

Ted: You might want to try a 3-piece 16" wheel. While "big reds" don't fit any factory 16" and some after market 17" wheels, my 16" Jongbloed's clear then just fine.

Mike: Peter Venturini says he will probably run GTL next year too. He just wants to use up the 20 some tires he bought for this year first.

Thanks for the tip, I called Jongbloed, the ID of their 16 rim was about 15.7. My strut requires closer to 16.2 to clear the ball joint. I'd be interested if there is a 16 inch rim that might fit (or if the rules are amended to permit a 17 inch DOT tire).

PS That cage is awesome I've been admiring it for a couple days. Nice tin work too.

Ted: We went throught the discussion about alternate rims many times. The problem is that the tire specified (an R600 compound slick) is not made in 17" or 18" sizes. We requested the option of a Toyo RA-1 as an alternate tire but it was not accepted. Having driven on the slicks for a few races, I don't think an RA-1 would come close to how well the slicks hold in the corners.

You'll just have to change your ball joints.
