Hankook tire question
To all:
Does anyone have any experience with the Hankook Ventus R-S3 tires? I was thinking of using them as my wets for vintage racing on a 1971 911. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, Kevin

Do you have to stay above a particular UTQ rating to stay in class?
Several POC PDS members have tried them with very positive results. Also consider, Toyo R1R, also a 140 UTQ. If you can go to a 100 UTQ, the Nitto NT01, and the Toyo RA1 are hard to beat!

Numbers of SCCA drivers who are showing up to events with RS3's are pretty good indication it is the only street tire for AX. With exception of only the 195/50/15 Toyo that is a sneaker tire with DOT R compound but without a DOT R rating. It is 140 TW tire. SCCA drivers are trying to get that one size of Toyo restricted from street tire classes.

I ran all of the 2011 Autocross season in my 944 on R-S3's in the Pacific Northwest. they are very good wet and damp weather tires for track usage, I heartily recommend them.
