Full Fiberglass dash install

Group,

I am prepping to install a new full fiberglass race dash. Not an overlay, but one that is meant to replace the entire dash and sub structure.

I know there are many threads on this, but I do not see any explaining how the metal sub structure is to be removed. Does anyone have a set of pictures or a writeup on the process?

This is a full track car, with a full cage.

TIA

Get out the sawzall ??

Hi andrew hope you are feeling better. Have not heard of this modification...do you simply take out all the dash metal but leave the steering support..and replace with fg with rings for guages etc? Is it a custom homemade dash?..will be interesting to see it.. Sorry no help from me cheers frank

Frank,
99.995% back to Par.. Thanks for the well wishes.. I got it figured, spoke to my friend in San Diego that does the fabrication on it, no need to remove the steel, just trim to fit and secure. 1/2 day job.

It replaces all the OEM dash and uses the steel frame as stock. Gauges for me are a non issue with My AIM Pista, but one can hole saw the locations for stock stuff.

Andrew
