Noise Limits- DE at Limerock

Hi all,

I am looking forward to my third DE at LRP on May 12th but have one concern. I recently completely some bolt on mods which include B&B headers, GT35r turbo, Turbokraft longneck IC (beautiful) and 1 bar spring. I also put in a Sachs racing pressure plate. All this was done at the expert hands of Rennwerke Porsche near me in Westchester, NY.

The PO already had put on one of Rarelyl8's sport mufflers. I ran LRP twice with that muffler (still on the car), stock headers, WG shorty pipe and 3LDZ with stock IC. There were no noise problems.

I am wondering if my new set up poses a risk of getting flagged. I don't appreciate a huge difference in noise as I drive the car around.

Does anyone run with a similar set up? Are there any ideas on the best way to get an idea of what the DB under WOT might be besides taping my iPhone to the rear bumper? Any general thoughts on avoiding noise issues at LRP or aftermarket fixes?

I appreciate everyone's thoughts and look forward to hearing from all you pros!

Thanks!

Will

I run at LRP all the time. Turbo's are generally no problem as the blower quiets the motor
The one problem you might run into is if your wastegate has a straight pipe on it
If you still have the wastegate muffler I'd bring it along with hardware to attach it

Dan thanks for the thoughts. I don't have the waste gate muffler but have run LRP twice without it and without getting flagged. The recent change to 1 bar spring from .8 should decrease the amount of times the WG opens and dumps.…at least in theory.

So I guess running a 930 with a zork tube is not gonna cut the mustard?

Have you seen any 930 turbo guys get away with a zork tube there?

Where do they mount the microphone for measuring the dBs at that track?

Thanks,
Fred
