Wavetrac TBD for AX?
OK, how about this unit? Anybody installed one, used it in AX, and seen a difference versus the open dif?
I know about Matt's units, Quaife, etc. Cheers |
Scott,
The problem with the Wavetrac for auto-x is the same problem that an LSD presents, it locks under braking. And it actually locks more aggressively, basically acting like a spool whenever you are on the brakes, making the car really wanting to resist any early corner rotation. If you only brake in a straight line, then it might work for you, but if you are trying to rotate under braking I would say no. The other thing to know is that when you get off the brakes, it snaps open pretty aggressively. If you like a throw and catch style of driving, it might work for you, but again, if you are very fluid in your style, I would say not a good solution for you. Regards, Matt |
Style?
Style? Throw and catch? Fluid? Was ist?

Some people like to break read end traction and slide the car to rotate it. There was a guy in the 911 tech forum posting about how much he loves his new Wavetrac and that's how he drove on track. Not what I personally consider the fast way around any course but some people drive that way. Think driving your car like a 935. ;)
