Excessive Diff backlash ?.

I'm just about to start fitting a new diff into my g50 and thought i'd check what i had 1st on the old unit.
what i have found is that i have backlash of .21 mm instead of .16 that is marked on the ring gear. is this acceptable or a excessive amount ?
I have been using a home made 521/4 and 388 tool, i set distance A at 75mm from the edge of the 521/4 hopefully i have this correct .
Both shafts are locked.
