This forum is getting quiet - post your AX vids & pics

This forum was one of my favorite daily stops on the internet, but it's seemed to have cooled off. Is everyone putting their cars away or something? Let's see some autocross vids.

With the serious competetion season over I've put my "competitive" car away and brought the 911 back out for the joy of it.

Here's me in a smaller lot autocross last weekend. After countless iterations of setup a fairly simple swap to a different tire (15" BFG Rival S 1.5) seems to have cured almost every complaint with the car. Thus this is the least eventful 911 autocross video I've taken in a long time. Car just worked well and didn't fight me.

Here's a time trial video of a minimally modified SRT4 on Hoosiers at Watkins Glenn. Sorry it's the best I can do

That's neither a Porsche nor autocross.

Thanks for sharing though. Hey, weren't SRT-4s power windows up front / crank windows rear?

Ha, yeah, I was just trying to get the ball rollin lol. It's not a real SRT4, it had the important bits swapped into a Neon challenge car so I'm not sure about the windows. I sounds probable. Guess there's no love here for the FWD econoboxes. I may have a video of me passing a Porsche if that helps LOL

Bite your tongue, this is my competitive AX car, the 911 is the slow but fun car.

This is a little like autocross, but faster and more boring at the same time.

Thanks.

It's true, there's some pretty good variety in that clip. From your usual-suspects Porsche, Corvette and E30 to the Indy Lights car and two friends with same-color GT3s, one a 996 and one a 991. There was also a 997.2 GT3 there that day that I got to drive, and the passenger in my car brought a Hellcat, which is 4400 pounds of wheel-spinning perplexity.

The group is Open Track Racing. They have their track days on Wednesdays, which works well for my schedule. I'm their Chief Driving Instructor.

This was a couple weeks ago on the best concrete site in the area.

Skip to about 55 seconds, sorry for not editing. If you listen past when the guy gives the time slip at the end, you can hear the young lady riding along exclaim "Holy $hit"

I'm ready for my ride along in the FP car.

Same course as above in the old air cooler.

Is your car a Carrera? I'd love to know more about it.

I worked course this year when Kencey was driving. I can't begin to comprehend the speed. It looks terrifying.

At Dragway 42 last week in West Salem, OH. More like a small road course than Autocross. This one was a test-n-tune and we got 17 runs! We took the 911 and the M3.

Here is a video of where we run: https://www.facebook.com/ScorchingRubber/videos/1611551312188565/
