86 951 For Sale Kansas City
Hate to do this but; I'm putting my 1986 Porsche 944 Turbo on the market. I don't have to sell the car, but there are a couple of reasons to sell the car. I want someone else to own the car that can get more fun out of it. I just do not have the time to drive it often enough to enjoy owning it. I feel bad as I pass the car in my garage every morning as I head for my four-door car for work.
Details: 1986 944 Turbo Red exterior and black interior. Touring edition options – PW / rear wiper / power removable top / cruise / Interior is about perfect. Exterior is very good and was repainted by PO The car has slightly less than 124K. I have a documentation of almost all oil changes. The car received according to the PO a new clutch and timing belt / water pump around 105K. The timing belt looks fine no cracks or tears. The clutch engages properly and feels tight. A/C works perfectly Have original manuals and sticker. What the car needs/problems. I’m trying to be accurate but invariably I may leaving something out unintentionally: Power steering pump needs to be rebuilt – currently drained Left turn signal does not cancel One fog light out Car is missing front bat wing ( I have the other two protective pieces) Mirrors on both sides only adjust two ways instead of four Rear tires getting thin the fronts are new about 4,000 or fewer miles Left rear wheel phone dial has been stripped to be refinished. I never completed this job since if I kept the car I was going to get Fuchs or Turbo Twists. Right rear speaker will fade in and out probably a bad connection. Slight wobble between 50 and 60 MPH. The feeling goes away at all other speeds and I mean all other J Has one ding on drivers side door and scratch on passenger side What I have done in the last year since I owned the car: Three or Four oil changes 20/50 Castrol New air filter (still have K&N but choose to go back to stock) AutoAthority Stage II chip set New Cap Rotor Plugs 3 bar fuel pressure regulator hood shocks Have new brake pads that will go with the car. When to brakes were bleed the pads were at about 50%. Front tires 205/55/16 Dunlop FM901’s The car is always put away clean and washed. I use quick detailer after every wash to give the car extra shine and no water spots. I did the three step wax process last fall. I have only driven the car in rain once in a year and that was by accident last fall. The car was only driven occasionally last winter on dry sunny days without salt on the roads. The car is always garaged. I’m asking $8000, which I feel is reasonable for a very nice car that could be a daily driver. ![]() |
