I am selling my aventurine 6 speed 993. The odometer shows 83K, but this is not accurate (I though only the trip meter was broken, since it stayed at all 0's, but it turns out that the actual odometer was broken). When you run a car fax, the 1999 NY registration will show the same mileage. Clearly I've not driven the car much, otherwise i'd have noticed this. Speedo is out at PA Speedometer getting fixed and i expect it to be back on monday or tuesday of next week.
Before any one asks, no i don't have documentation. The first 2 owners were a leasing company, and the guy before me only owned it for a short time and had no records. As for me, all that I have had to do is
a) change oil (car driven enough since 1999 to get oil up to temp for the annual spring oil change.
b) get inspections (car driven 2 miles to the inspection station)
c) change the oil, replace brake pads (when i drove it regularly before 2009)
I've driven the car less than 1000 miles since 2009, when i moved from TX to NY and started working from home. I simply don't need 2 garage queens and would like to see this go to someone who will drive it like it deserves.
Paint is original (to my knowledge) except for a ding in the sun roof which was caused when i shipped the car from TX to NY. Paint repair matches perfectly, you can't tell even in bright sunlight that there was a repair (the ding was about the size of a half dollar in the middle).
The shifter nob has the wrong "emblem" (center piece). The original broke out and i thought I had found the right 6 speed emblem, but it turned out to be a 5 speed, I can't seem to find the right part.
The "belt tension" switch died on me, and as I understand this is a common thing. I never bothered to replace it, so the engine pic will show the connector jumppered to fool the idiot light. Frankly, i felt that the price for the switch was way overblown for what it does. But i'm happy to replace
There are 2 blemishes in the interior, one on the center console which is about 1/4 inch square (torn fabric), almost hidden completely by the seat. The other is on the top of the passenger door pocket (the pics are high enough resolution that you should be able to zoom in with your favorite photo viewer to see.
I'm happy to take the car to any place near Albany NY (with the exception of one place where i had a bad experience with my race car transmission so i won't let them touch my car at all) for PPI,
I do have the complete toolkit, compressor owners manual etc. Car is located about 40 Miles west of Albany NY, always garaged in heated space over the winter.
