1995 Porsche 968, Manual, Black/Black, FAST, Super clean

Link to pictures: 1995 Porsche 968 Coupe - a set on Flickr REDUCED $1000 - now $13,900

Couple of things for folks who have already seen this listing: I've had a lot of interest in the car, and while for me this car has been a perfect balance of road and track, turns out other people think it's TOO track, while others think it's not track enough, and of course just about everyone thought it was too expensive. Sigh. Also, I did have one buyer willing to take the car and sent a deposit, but the PPI turned up bondo in the center of the hood from a prior owner's repair job that I was unaware of, and while I offered to drop the price $1000 or re-paint/re-pair the hood, he wanted to keep looking. So here's your chance to get back in the game on this at a reduced price.

One-of-a-kind, triple-black, ultra rare ’95 968 coupe. Chassis # 222 out of 258 North American coupes in the final year of the car. California car (Los Angeles), with prior lives in AZ, TX and FL, so no snow or salt. All records/books plus a detailed maintenance spreadsheet (which I can send you pre-purchase) since 2002. Meticulously maintained, tastefully upgraded, as you’ll see from the list below. Sure, you can find a 968 for $10-$12k, but it will cost you another $10k to get it anywhere near the shape this one’s in. Trust me. Spend a little more now and save yourself a ton later. Here’s the upgrade list:

• All new paint (some subsequent stone chips, though, what can you do?)
• RS Barn Stage 1 performance chip (still have original)
• Lindsey Racing M030 front sway bar w/delrin mount bushings and mount stabilizers (still have originals plus new rubber mounts if you want them)
• Lindsey Racing 5-way adjustable rear sway bar set to full stiff (makes a HUGE difference in handling)
• Design 1 Racing upper strut brace with custom red paint
• Design 1 Racing lower front suspension brace
• Design 1 Racing firewall brace
• Design 1 Racing short shift kit
• Airbox mod to increase intake airflow + K&N filter
• Yellow Koni adjustable shocks
• Hypercoil blue front springs (rate unknown)
• B&B hi-flow catback exhaust with chrome tip (still passes CA emissions)
• Custom alignment and corner balancing at West End Auto (extra camber and neutral toe – really unlocks the car, reducing understeer and increasing turn-in)
• Updated German leather shift knob/boot with backlit shift pattern (red)
• Gauge cluster upgrades: brushed aluminum backplate w/chrome bezel rings plus red LED lighting kit
• Kenwood BT901 multi-media stereo w/full iPhone/iPod integration (cable in armrest) plus JL Audio subwoofer in spare tire well. Bluetooth phone. Stereo kills.
• Like new (no tears or bolster wear at ALL) supple leather 8-way power adjustable driver and passenger seats from a 993
• Burled walnut-look dash trim kit
• Turbo-look front splitter and rear spoiler
• Gloss black-finish 17” 993 wheels (Cup III’s) with red pinstriping and painted center caps. 7” front, 9” rear, 225 / 255 rubber, Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Specs
• Rear wiper delete (still have original)
• Brushed aluminum door sill plates w/Porsche crest
• New steering rack at 82k miles
• New timing / bal shaft belts / water pump at 84k miles
• New Lloyds floor mats (still have originals + seat covers + steering wheel cover for use when putting car in shop)
• Includes TWO car covers, both custom fit: red cotton indoor dust cover, and outdoor weather cover w/locking kit
• Mobil 1 only, every year regardless of mileage, plus balance shaft belt re-tensioned.
• Includes original spare tire, compressor and sunroof carrying case.

I love this car and will miss it dearly. It’s my 4th Porsche and I know it well. While it is not perfect, it is a very nice example, and represents an excellent balance between track-readiness and road-worthiness. Turn killer times at the track then take your wife out for dinner that night. Ice cold air, searing heat. Everything works as it should. Amazing stereo. Engine, transmission, clutch and brakes all tip top working order.

In the might-bum-you-out department, there is some slight dash deformation near the defroster vents, there are some minor stone chips/road rash on the front bumper, rocker panels, and hood, some curb rash on one wheel, and the center brake light is currently out. The paint, otherwise, though is in such good shape and reflects so much light it is nearly impossible to photograph the flaws. NEWLY DISCOVERED: there is bondo in the center of the hood from a prior owner's repair job. I have no documentation on this repair.

You will need new front tires in the very near future, the rears might last another year depending on what you do with the car. Why didn’t I put new tires on? Because I don’t know how you intend to use the car, and tires make all the difference. Why waste my money and your time putting on crappy all-season tires if you want to track the car, or you live in Minnesota and need snow/rain tires? The next owner should get to choose. You will also need new brake pads within the year. But these are wear and tear items and do not impact the intrinsic value of this car. Just letting you know.

Bottom line, there are very few “perfect” 10 out of 10 in every category 968’s out there. This one is super close, and could get there without a ton of investment if you want. But don’t take my word for it. Come see the car. Will arrange for shipping anywhere, or fly in to Los Angeles and drive it cross country.

Finally – the car has been REDUCED from $14,900 firm to $13,900 OBO. Clear title in hand. Contact Dennis Wolfe at denniswolfe101@gmail.com or 310-463-6793. Please do not PM through the site.
