Dual Purpose Street / Track S2

This is a great entry level Porsche - especially if you have interest in doing Autocross or Track time. I am and instructor and have had this car on the track twice before having to have my knee replaced.

It's very economical - Brake rotors are $65 - pads are interchangeable front and rear - it even gets decent gas mileage at the track (17 mpg) compared to 7 mpg with my old 3.6

I am selling my 1989 944 S2 Black/Black - Sunroof approximately 110K miles

In 1989 the 944S2 was introduced, powered by a 211 PS (155 kW; 208 hp) normally aspirated, dual-overhead-cam 16-valve 3.0 L version of the 944S engine. With a bore of 104 mm (4.1 in) and a stroke of 88 mm (3.5 in), it was the largest production 4-cylinder engine of its time.[7] The 944S2 also received a revised transmission and gearing to better suit the 3.0 L M44/41 powerplant. The 944S2 had the same rounded nose and a rear valance found on the Turbo model. This was the first example of the use of an integrated front bumper, where the fender and hood profiles would merge smoothly with the bumper, a design feature that has only now seen widespread adoption on the 1990 onward production cars. Performance was quoted as 0-60 mph in 6.0 seconds (0-100 km/h 6.8 s), with a top speed of 240 km/h (150 mph) via manual transmission.

The 944 S2 power-to-weight ratio was such that it was able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds.

Over the past 4,000 miles the following have been replaced

Battery
AC Compressor
Waterpump
Timing chain pad (Internal)
Timing belt and rollers
Engine seals
Power Steering rack (rebuilt)
Power Steering pump (rebuilt)
Alternator
Starter
Rebuilt brake calipers
New rotors (pads, Emergency Brake, yada yada)
New coolant expansion tank (only because I didn't like the yellow color of the last one)
New fuel lines (braided SS)
New brake soft lines
New suspension bushings (elephant racing)
New clutch (Sachs)
Rear Suspension painted and completely gone through
New Rear bearings
Bluetooth Stereo
Performance Muffler
Ground Control Coil Overs (350/500lbs - very streetable)
M030 Sways (all new sway bar bushings)
New O2 and reference sensors
Camber Mounts
Fuel Injectors Cleaned
New Rotor/Plug Wires/Plugs/etc
High Strung Control Arms

Runs great - One of the best driving cars there is with 50/50 weight distribution

The Car is in great shape - no evidence of any damage - paint all looks original, and good shape (and I have been very intimate with this car during it's rehab) Looks like it's been garaged during it's life.

The dash has some cracks - the stock driver's seat has a split = (I have a replacement seat covers, full leather, that I'll include)

Price Drop - $13,000 with stock wheels
