1975 911 Targa with 3.0 liter SC engine - Excellent Driver - Inexpensive air cooled

1975 911 Targa

3.0 liter SC engine, SC rear flares, repaint all done around 1990

Believed to be 138k miles on chassis

VIN: 9115110625

Leakdown results: 2% on Cylinder 1, 1% across the remaining cylinders

Over $10k invested in past 8 months

Offered at $25,900

Powertech Select Motorcars is pleased to offer this 1975 911 Targa with an updated 3.0 liter engine (from a later model 911 SC). Finished in a repainted light blue metallic (original color we believe was Gazelle metallic) with RARE black sport seats. This is a great affordable introduction to air-cooled 911's.

This 911 has been serviced by Mike Daino/Powertech since 1986!! It was converted to a 3.0 liter 911 SC engine around 1990, which was around the same time 911 SC rear flares were added and the paint color change was completed.

We believe the chassis has 138k miles in total, as it only has a 5 digit odometer and we believe that it rolled over once. We do not know the mileage on the 3.0 liter engine.

The car has a "Saratoga" style removable targa top (we DO NOT have the original vinyl top).

Up until late last year, the car had been sitting for a while, so Powertech just completed a extensive service to get it running, and it now runs and drives excellent! This service in total was over $10k... Notable items addressed are:

- Removal of old fuel and tank, replacement of accessible rubber chassis fuel lines
- Replacement of battery
- Oil and filter change
- Reinstallation of fuel tank and new fuel filter
- New rear brake calipers
- Replacement of all front and rear rubber flex brake hoses
- Rebuilt front calipers
- Brake fluid flush
- Installed 4 new tires
- Replaced right side tie rod boot
- Reset idle speed and fuel mixture
- Reinstalled pop-off valve with new epoxy
- Installed used fuel injector and new O rings
- Reset sensor plate and fuel mixture
- Replaced intake manifold boots and gaskets
- Installed used intake airbox
- Installed rear sway bar bushings
- Installed turn signal relay
- Installed used fuel pressure regulator
- Replaced oil temperature sending unit
- Adjusted fuel mixture for cold start
- Repaired bubbling in paint of pass quarter panel and refinished
- Repaired/refinished front seats
- New trunk carpet kit (not photographed)
- Installation of Momo steering wheel and hub

A leakdown test was completed as well, with outstanding results. Cylinder #1 was 2%, the remaining five cylinders were 1%.

With all that said, the car is in excellent mechanical condition and drives very well. Cosmetically the car presents well (particularly the interior), but does have numerous small issues that are pointed out in the photos. This does not detract from the overall looks of the car, as it looks really sharp in person.

PPI's welcome, trades welcome.

With the increase in air-cooled prices over the past few years, this is a rare opportunity to get into a good one at a very reasonable number.

Bump - lots of interest from afar, but still currently available.

Engine number is 6380450, from a 1978 SC

SC flares are steel OEM from Porsche
