Hail damage question

Living in Colorado finally caught up with me... at work, with a shockingly devasting hail storm.

I ran out to protect the hood with cardboard. It was pierced immediately before I could install it. Nevertheless, I left it on top of the hood, and then realizing my own life was in peril... I sought shelter in the trunk.

It was as if hammers were being thrown at the car. I winced with every impact. Amazingly, no glass was shattered despite golfball-sized ice bullets.

So, now the hood, roof and most of the other metal panels (not the nose cone or tailpiece) are dimpled for speed.

What would you do next...

A) replace the hood with fibreglass? Stripping it to make a kick ass autocross/rally-cross star... pocketing the rest of the insurance claim.

B) Just take the insurance payout and accept the payment as future value loss?
It likely won't total out. I count maybe 100 dings... 40-75 bucks a piece, after deductible... $3500-$7000 check to repair.

C) fix it back to where it looks the proper Porsche part. It is (by Porsche's own definition) a classic after all (10+ years old).

Was this the storm last week? A contractor I work with was out there and said it was pretty nasty...his van was totaled and had to find a rental to get back here. The same system hit us and was still dropping large hail just miles west of Milwaukee. My first thought was that my precious car was about to get destroyed. Luckily, the storm front met Lake Michigan and petered out. Not before dropping 3" of rain in the city, though.
No advice, just a stupid story. I'd be asking the same question.

Yeah, probably the same storm.

I have passed through most of the stages of grief by now... anger, denial, bargaining, acceptance... etc.

I just need my insurance company to catch up. Uggh.
