Cayenne Tiptronic - No top gear
 

Hiya Guys.. been away for a long time since I sold my Boxster, but looking at a used (2004) Cayenne 3.2 GTS that has a gearbox problem. being that the experts are usually on here , is this likely just 'service issue' ie needs fluids changed badly. or are there common problems known..

STOOD FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS & THE BATTERY BEING ABSOLUTELY DRAINED, HER AUTO GEARBOX NOW WONT GO IN TO TOP, SO BASICALLY YOU CAN ONLY DRIVE COMFORTABLE UP TO APPROX 45MPH

Any help appreciated before I spend lots of unneccessary cash !!

Likely a valve body issue. - one of the solenoids isn't firing.

The whole valve body sits just above the trans oil pan and can be dropped and replaced pretty easily. Though it's a messy job.

45mph? in 5th? Seems 5th should be god for over 100.
