Cayenne 958 rear door handle not working!

Update!!
I had to change the Right Rear Door Lock Actuator Motor (OEM 9A783911601),, but now it`s okay again!!

Thanks for all answers!!

I have a 2013 Cayenne 958 and have noticed that that the left rear door handle are not working as it should..

If i try to open from outside after the car has been locked it won`t open, but if i open it first from outside it OK until that it`been locked again!!

Some tips??

Best reg

wow..i just fixed this on my car saturday - same door - it wound up being the lock actuator on mine - i actually took the actuator apart and as far as i could tell it was the contacts to the motor were not making a good connection - it is quite a project to get the actuator out of the door - it took me all day to remove, fix, and get back together - good luck

Yes, I have the same issue! it's more than likely the actuator. We've been living with it for a few years now, just haven't got to it since i heard it wasn't a fun task.

honerboys, my 2011 Cayenne S developed the same issue on Right Rear door this week, so I'm about to dig in to correct it. Did you simply disassemble, clean contacts and reassemble, or did you replace the actuator?

hey vlcty - i actually disassembled the actuator - there is a small motor inside that goes forward or reverse and through gears works the lock - the motor's electrical connections are pins that insert into the motor - i cleaned those up and re-assembled - not really sure if that was the problem but it worked after i assembled it - separating and assembling the pieces of the actuator was the tricky part - if you decide to try this and get that far post a picture and i'll try to explain how it separates

i'm going to tell you that you have to disassemble the entire door to get to this - remove the door panels (there's another one behind the one you see) - separate the window glass from the regulator - remove outer door handle - and snake your hand inside door to remove this thing - plan on a full day - i'm retired and a tinkerer by nature (also cheap) so i have time for things like this

something else to try ..on mine i worked the lock (lock/unlock) with the remote while using a screwdriver to turn that emergency lock on door edge - so i could see the motor trying to lock if i turned that thing about half way - mine would unlock but not lock - anyway if you have questions just post them

honerboys, thanks for the response. Mine locks, but doesn't unlock with the remote. I can clearly hear the different noise when comparing to the Left Rear door which is functioning correctly. I've been inside my 997 and Boxster doors, and was researching the WSM on this....clearly will be a bit more challengineg (I have the window shades too...). I've also come up with a couple different part numbers through research so may simply be best to pull/play with the existing one to see if cleaning will resolve, otherwise I'll pull the P/N directly from it. Happy to post anything I discover along the way. I used to post Porsche repair stuff on YouTube (Roaring Tigers Garage), but no longer have the time to set up cameras, lighting, and do all the post-editing stuff.

then you know the drill - just a nut and bolt operation - time consuming is all - good luck with the repair
