Porsche battery protection
So it’s been real cold here lately and I’ve found in my older Porsches (especially with air suspension) when it gets below -30 they usually don’t start. I have Antigravity batteries in mine now so I don’t worry about it, but I was worried my wife’s 2012 Cayenne wouldn’t start.
It’s been on the front bump stops a couple times which has been the sign the battery is dead from cold/air suspension, but both times I went to start it I got the message on the display “ porsche battery protection was active during parking” and it started. Did Porsche do some newer programming to save the battery at a certain level to insure it starts? Nothing in the manual, but it’s great if it’s true and a slight give for no block heater. Thoughts?

I think you need to move South! - Damn that's cold. Oil must turn to molasses...
I know that even my old 04 has battery protection, shutting systems when the battery goes at all low.

That’s interesting, makes sense especially with air suspension. My Panamera didn’t have this that’s why I went to Antigravity batteries.
