Cayenne Experience Test Drive

Anyone else get invited to test drive the Cayenne? I will be going to the one on Sept. 5th in Alameda. It says there be a road course and a off road course where you test drive them. There will also be free food. I have absolutely no interest in buying a pepper wagon, but it will be fun to see its capabilities first hand.

Cayennes are stacking up like cordwood in dealer's lots. 'Nuff said. Mr. Moderator? Care to move this to the Cayenne board?

Thats the only reason I'm going. I guess they figured nobody would want to test drive them if they didn't offer something in return.

Got an invite as well and, while I don't think I'd ever buy one, I wouldn't mind the opportunity to try one out and form my own opinions. I know I don't like the looks, but I would like to see how the performance stacks up against all the hype. Registered for the 6th.

They didn't invite me, but I expect I would go just to see what those Deutsche Ings have come up with, this time!

Hmm, I thought the sales figures showed more Cayenne sales so far this year than Boxster or 911.

Garage
My wife and I did the Cayenne test drive last week in Miami. They did an excellent job with the program - the autocross portion even had a decent straight section. We got to drive both the regular version and the Turbo.

The off road part was great fun and I even got the Turbo with one wheel almost 2 feet off the ground.

The only bad part was that we liked the Turbo. My wife has a BMW X-5, 4.4 and frankly it is more fun than the base Cayenne.

The Turbo was EXCELLENT - but at almost $100,000, probably not a logical thing to buy for my wife.
