Residual Value
I'm seriously considering the Cayenne, amongst several other vehicles, as a daily driver. My choice will depend in large part on the residual value at the end of 2 years. Any predictions? Is the value going to drop like a bag of cement - just like the 996's or will they hold up? How about compared to a M-B SUV, BMW X5, a Suburban and a Hummer H2??? -- Curt

my opinion is contrary to pwd72s. I understand the near necessity of having an SUV. If you need one and can afford it, why not support the company that we love. Afterall, if we don't support them and purchase the competition, then our beloved company will not be able to rejoin racing in it's top forms at Le Mans etc. I do believe the Cayenne would be the Rolex here. Ok, so the SUV market is saturated, but I live here in Southern California, I've seen them so often it's evident that they've become a successful experiment from the outset. For those of you whom think Porsche should stay out of Off-Roading, let me point to the Class winning GT-2 that won at Pikes Peak. I have a friend that is really into Land Rovers, and he has admitted to me that even the Rover club guys are saying the Cayenne is a formidable off-Roader. Will it hold it's value? Only time will tell, but with 450 horses. I'm sure the Turbo will be a sought after vehicle for quite some time! that's my $.02

Hey Paul, I wouldn't be selling the early car to buy the Cayenne!! This would be my daily driver. And I'm one who actually uses an SUV for what it is intended - I'd be loading this baby up with all my wet, muddy duck hunting gear and blasting thru the swamps!
