955 Cayenne Turbo - auxiliary water pump seizing causing Brake Booster Faulty message
I've got my 955 CTT in at the dealer for another Brake Booster Faulty warning message (third one in 9 months! previous were a vacuum sensor replacement and vacuum line and venturi tube replacement) and the diagnosis is that the additional coolant pump/after run pump/auxiliary water pump whatever you want to call it is seized and causing amperage spike and blowing the fuse (#12 in the engine fuse box) which it shares with the brake booster apparently. (I don't see this in the fuse box diagram per se, but ok).
My question is, if I disable this pump, other than not getting extra heat to the cabin after the engine is off, and some assistance with cooling down the engine after shut off, is there any risk to just disabling and moving on? They want $2000+ to replace this pump, and I don't think i can do it myself. appreciate any thoughts/comments. Thanks Jeff |
No thoughts on the necessity of the auxiliary coolant pump? Too obscure perhaps?
Still appreciate any feedback if you’ve got some, Thanks |
