Oil measurement

Hi,

Took a family trip with the wife's 2012 Cayenne S and the oil has me confused. It shows down 1 litre when first fired up, but then after it heats up it's showing the correct level. I understand expansion but I've never seen this on my other Porsches.

Wondering if it's the oil level sensor and where exactly it is.

The car needs to be running and warmed up to get a correct measurement. It sounds wrong but it is how it works.

Both my Macan and Cayenne show the same level on their gauges regardless of fully warmed or cold...
