AC Compressor Reset
 

We are the proud owners of a wonderful Cayenne. However, the ac stopped working recently. I took it to a shop here is our little town that is run by a gentleman that worked for a MB dealer for fifteen years. He is a great mechanic and he works on my bimmers all the time with no issues at all. He checked my wife's baby out and found it had almost no freon in it. He did a vacuum check and refilled it without incident. However, the compressor wont kick back on. He told me that the MB compressors will lock themselves off rather than burn up and he suspects that's the problem. His equipment however won't tell the compressor that the problem has been eliminated. So, I am asking for input in an effort to avoid the nearest Porsche dealer who has a reputation for less than wonderful service practices.

SO, if anyone knows how to reset the codes to let the compressor kick back on without breaking anything else, I would appreciate it.

Any luck, I have this same problem?
 

AC system was low on r134, recharged and now compressor isn't running, fuse is ok so I am assuming that some fault code is preventing compressor from engaging. Unlike my Mercedes where fault codes can be checked through dash, it seems like the Porsche fault codes can only be checked with a special cable and software?
