Cayenne GTS!
Hello Everyone,
I need some feedback, and I am turning to the experts of this forum for advice. I have a Polar Silver 6 speed Manual 993 C2 that I love, and drive all summer and fall, but now find myself in a position to add a car to the stable. I am considering a Cayenne GTS as an option, and was wondering if anyone has any experience in one with a Manual gear box. I have driven the automatic, which is nice, but never the 6 speed manual. Before I spent anytime looking to find one to try, I thought that I would see if anyone here has tried it and has any comments. The car would predominantly be used on the highway with about 40% in city driving. Thanks! S |
Sorry man, I wish I could give you advice on the manual. But the Cayenne GTS is the way to go. Turbo's too expensive and the GTS is a little more rare. With the new body change Porsche is not going to build the GTS for 2 more years.
My wife just got a 2010 GTS and loves it - as do I. I have had several 911s and 930s over the years and the Cayenne is a great addition. Good luck with the search for manual. Mark |
Sound Good

You just made the selection for me... Down the road (a couple of years), I want to retire my Odyssey and add a Cayenne, actually my wife like them. So if I understand correctly, with the new 2011 platform, they will not do any GTS until 2012 or so. Up here for 2011 they offer 4 models (Cayenne, Turbo, S and S Hybrid) and we still don't have Iphone 4..., in 10 days apparently. Not that you mentioned they are rare, I don't think I never seen one, may not have been offer in Canada aka "Poor cousin" state. I'll to investigate more :D:D:D. My wife is going to kill me :eek::eek: Cheers J.J. Vancouver911 Thanks for the initial posting. |

The smartest thing you can do is sell the 993 to me and buy a turbo, best of all worlds (for me at least) :D

Ou est le garage...

Was going to give you "caca" because you got no garage but then I saw you website. Vere simple but nice. So nice that it will be my model. I secure Das Babe but all I'm doing right now is re-directing to my P.P. garage ( I dont have time for anything anymore since I got her :):):)P. Did you use a computer program to do your site and if so which one is it and hopefully available for non-Mac user;do have an Ipod, Ipad and waiting for Iphone 4 for which I request xxx-Das-Babe :D:D:D( it would go well with the website and her e-mail. Yes you guess it; DasBabe@rogers.com) Cheers J.J. P.S. SSIs and 2In/2Out B&K on their way... Did order a removable internal plug just in case!!! |
I am also thinking about a GTS, I've had my Cayenne S, for 6 years, and its time for a new one. I asked my salesman ( a early 911 guy ) if I should get a stick He replied " Rob, you will hate it, it shifts like a truck, a old truck, the lever is up to high the whole thing feels like a after thought.
I'm going to stick with the Tiptronic. |
He's right. I've driven a few of them at work as well as a couple V-6 6-speeds. The shifter felt vague and rubbery, and the clutch felt weird too. I found myself struggling to shift it as it quickly got up to redline. I wouldn't call myself the best driver, but I don't think I could ever come close to keeping up to a Tiptronic GTS with one of those. The Tiptronic GTS, on the other hand, drives very nicely.

I did the site by hand, then my wife took it and put it together with a program of hers. I think it was done in Dreamweaver but I can't remember for sure.
It needs a revamp so I can add all my pepperwagon stuff. |
How...
I'm not that web savy... Do you or your wife need some useless 911 part :D;):D
|
Just get a Mac and do it with the built in program, or, what have you got for parts? :D
|
Let see...

Thank you to all of the members who gave feedback. I pulled the trigger on a Black on Black Cayenne GTS with the Full Leather option. Great SUV. I love it! As a feeler, I have 1996 Polar Silver on Black Leather C2 that I might part ways with in search of the elusive 993TT. My 993 has 67k miles on it, no accidents, and has been maintained by MCL here in Vancouver. I just spent 10k on it to get the car perfect.....Any takers?

Hello?!
Sure kick a man while he's down, my 911's in the shop getting a top end rebuild and new rings. What do you want for yours? I know a 993TT for sale, and it's the best deal in Canada, if Rob hasn't sold it yet |
You know, I could do with an SC in the garage...
I want in the mid 30's on the 993. Let me know if you are interested. S |
Oh,and let me know about the 993TT as well please

There are always a couple for sale in Canada, but you could probably pick one up at half the price in the US.
