Resetting PDC
One complaint about my pepper is that when it's cold (below -15C) half of the systems complain when she starts up (kinda like the owner). I get a 4 WD fault, Park distance control goes red (usually due to ice and snow on the sensors), etc.
Once warm everything but the sensors seem fine. Now mine are Red and complaining even though there is nothing blocking them. Last time the dealer reset them and they were fine, but I shouldn't have to take it to the dealer each time they get cold. Is there another way to reset the park distance control system that I can do? Cheers |
and at only below minus 15°C eh?
anyway, I bought one of the Durametric cables (and software) --plugs into a notebook or tablet computer, to reset faults. Or, maybe a garage would help. . .B'b'b'burrrrrrrrr.... |
I have a tool, don't know what kind it is, I guess I could try it, I didn't want to reset any error codes before she goes in for her final service under warranty.
I have a garage, the 911 and wife's truck get that. And minus 15 is just a guess, always at -30 and sometimes at -10 depending on how long it's been before it's been started. Funny thing is they did some of the winter testing here in Alberta, I guess it must have been nice then... |
Axel,
What does this have to do with my post???? Anyway got it back from the dealer after my service and they reset the PDC again. Gave me the same spiel about dirt or something in the sensors. I told them this was the second time they have had to reset it and this shouldn't be the case. If it happens again I will try to reset them with my tool and if that doesn't work raise a stink at the dealer on or off the warranty. |
