A/C and Speedometer Issues
Updated thread>
New 2011 Cayenne speedometer is off, reading high by 3+ mph, regardless of speed over 30 mph... reading 33 at 30 and 73 at 70. Dealer says normal variance is 7%, which seems too high. (Thought fed regs said no more than 5%) Also, A/C not blowing cold after it reaches desired temp settings. It will blow cold once the car gets going. As soon as it hits the desired temp, it dies off and struggles to stay cool, eventually seeming to give up, like maybe there is a fault with a sensor, but no fault code pops up.. Dealer says this is normal as Porsche not known for quality A/C. (?) I do not buy either story. Looking for advice as to next step to getting these two items fixed.... Will keep post updated as dealer still has car. Last edited by nutsrus; 06-11-2011 at 05:41 PM.. Reason: new information |

Lots of AC complaints on the various different boards about the 2011's. And I don't think it's a "porsche thing" because my 05' blows ice cold, and it's in the 90's here. Some of the first forums threads I've ever seen on Rennlist and Renntech are about the 11' AC systems being weak.

Thanks. So far the problem has been isolated to a cabin temp sensor. No word on the wheels/tires issue relative to the speedo problem.
Is this A/C system not the same as what the VW Toureg uses? Is it not also an Audi design? Hopefully it is just a 2011 issue. I never once believed it was systemic in any late model Porsche. |
