trailer brake controller for Cayenne
Having trouble finding someone in Northeast WI (Appleton or Green Bay area) who knows how to install a trailer brake controller for my 08 Porsche Cayenne.
If anyone has experience with this, I would like to know what part they used (my dealer recommended Prodigy but would not install it himself), and was unable to recommend anyone in my area who would install this. It would seem to me that a vehicle that is rated to tow 7000 lb. would also have an option to install a trailer brake controller since most enclosed car trailers would have electric brakes! I don't understand why this should be difficult. Any experience or advice would be helpful. Thanks! Randall Johnson |

Just a thought. I was in the RV business many years ago. Dealers really aren't oriented in that direction. Try a large RV dealer.

Strange,
My dealer has done tons of installs. I would only take it to them so as not to pooch any electronics. Mine went off without a hitch ![]()

I bought a radio frequency brake controller for my Touareg, It works great. It's a Prodigy 90250. You'll still need a 12 volt connection from the vehicle...

most of the ones are plug and play for trucks like dodge , GM and ford's . most other are still ez to install as long as you got one that is universal .
with most controlers there are 4 wires white is to ground black is to pos. power system accessory outlet should work red to brake light switch blue to the trailer brakes yes they use white for a ground and black for power 99.9 % of the time . use a test light and the brake light switch in the brake peddle see wtich wire turns the test light on when you step on the brakes . you should be able to use that wire to tap into . the blue wire just runs to the plug on you bumper were the trailer plugs into . |
