Selling 330i & Astra to buy a Macan GTS

Hello I will be selling both of my cars and buying a Porsche Macan GTS for myself and my fiance & newborn. I was wondering if the sales of our current cars will be taxable? I've had a look at my salary and I'm in the 40% tax band - will it be at that rate? I'm a little confused.

Also - I've heard people say the Macan's brakes have little "bite" - is there anything I can install to improve this?

Any advice appreciated Cheers!

Hello and welcome to the forum! Not sure about your tax question, but upgrading the brake pads to something like the Hawk HPS ones should give you more immediate stopping. Please let us know if you have any questions.

I use my Macan GTS in the canyons a lot, and the brakes haven't let me down. The issue with the brakes on the Macan is the amount of dead space before the brakes actually engage. Stepping on the brake pedal, there's maybe 15 degrees before the brakes actually bite. When they engage though, it's just like every other Porsche, they are great. If only there was a way to remove that worthless space, I would be 100% happy.

Not a tax professional...but selling your current car should not be a taxable event (unless you make a significant profit over what you paid...which is almost impossible for most cars). It should be a loss (but not claimable).
