going to buy '06 CayenneS

I'm starting to look for an '06S. In the S.F. Bay Area I see them in the mid $30's from brokers and private parties, and the mid $40's from the dealers. All have about the same milage 35-45K. Other than a Carfax is there anything else to check for? One of the uses will be to tow our '75 Carrera race car in an enclosed trailer. I figure the combined towing weight to be around 5,000 lbs.
thanks.

I would highly recommenced looking for one w/ PASM (air suspension) --fairly rare in the CS, and standard on the CT. The control over the suspension is great. ...anti-dive on braking, for example, gives quicker braking response.

Make sure that you get all of the keys. If not, buy extras and have the missing ones programed out. (keys and programing are not cheap, btw)

Plan on~1k+ if you need to add the tow package to one.

I'm thinking about selling my '06 cayenne titanium edition.

It's the dark blue version with gray/black interior, low 30's for miles. Typical titanium parts, nav., color-matched painted wheels. It's a certified vehicle with the factory 100K warranty. Got new pads and rotors (and accessory hardware) on front and putting new ones on rear tomorrow (yes, new sensors, caliper bolts, hardware, rotor, pads,...). Local dealer knows the car and has done scheduled maintenance so you could check in with them. Absolutely love the car but need a third row of seats. Got the cayenne bc didn't like our Volvo XC90 T6. Completely superior to the Volvo in every measurable way. I'll sell it for $37K. No tow package and no PASM, island911 is right. PASM is sweet and I wish mine were so equipped.

Tow package by the dealer. I was quoted $1700 by one dealer where we were looking at an '06 (didn't buy) Another dealer quoted me $2300 installed. Is there any reason a dealer needs to do thsi.
