1980 911 SC Slantnose 383 Stroker Conversion
 

Acquired a converted 911 sc 383 Stroker a couple of months ago that was a track car at Lime Rock. Hadn't planned on doing a new project. My 89 911 LS1 is perfect and running beautifully but here we go. The car has a 915 tranny with extensive work to it and a well tuned 383 Stroker with Holley 750 carburetor. The Renegade Hybrid cooling system and gas tank is all working but the hoses were run right through the cabin and all the original gauges removed. I've gotten original gauges and plan to clean up the car. Took it to the weigh station today to see where I am starting off at. Only have 1 seat in the car but it weighs considerably less then my 89 911 ls1. This 80 SC with the metal slantnose conversion weighs 2400lbs where the 89 weighs 2950.... Not sure what I'm going to do with another one but we shall see...

Spent the entire day taking the car apart. Car had repair work in the front and it was not done very clean...

Are you thinking of EFI fuel delivery system?
Why such huge difference in weight?

Not sure why such a difference in the weight. Only had 1 seat in it and a 915 tranny instead of a g50.01...

I am tinkering with the idea of EFI but I'm far away from that. In time...

Wow, that's light, my 76 912 (with a VW type-4 engine) weighed 2300 lbs. I'm surprised it's that light with an iron-block Chevy. But you said the interior is pretty much stripped right?

Andy, it was stripped in the interior except one seat. Does seem light. My 89 911 with the ls1 weighs 2950, fully loaded with ac, g50.01, etc...

Anymore progress on this? I am contemplating a safari with a zz4 350 crate engine. I am removing a complete renegade system from a 73 S slant coupe and swapping it into an 81 sc. It will be my first venture into v8 swap territory

I sold it 4 years ago.
