very odd motor swap underway 996
Just thought I'd share. I have a very extensive build thread on another site so your missing all the cosmetic custom work that was done but I'm about 50% through the engine swap and thought I'd share.
My YouTube channel has a brief summery of the 1st phase here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwzq06vG7mI the skinny.. 3.8sc out of a Pontiac grand prix gtp. ported everything.. everything, cam, springs, tall stack intercooler, nitrous, custom made equal length headers/exhaust, larger TB, 60lbs injectors.. and more. Hoping to put around 370 to the wheels with out the No2. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1583501576.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1583501592.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1583501606.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1583501615.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1583501648.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1583501675.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1583501697.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1583501716.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1583501734.jpg |
That’s cool, I like it.
Did you ever consider the new GM 3.6 LY7 engine? It’s a hell of an engine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
Why? You could of found a 3.8l Porsche engine and made that torque with a turbo and still be sellable
|
Have you built a 3.8l turbo Porsche engine? I'm in midst of both a 3.8tt air cooled parts collecting and have a few 3.6t engines. I can think of a few reasons he might do the above. COST, FUN, Different, transmission needs, and it looks like a fresh engine build.
I'll have probably double his car build in the 3.8tt engine alone. Purist in an engine swap thread??? Updates? |
I really like this engine idea for a 914 w 930 box behind it. That could be cheap fun.
