I should get the kennedy adapter for my 912 sometime next week.

I will start installing the subaru motor soon. I plan on putting the radiator in the rear. we'll see.

cool, I recently found an old panelvan that I'd love to run a subaru engine in, drop it low and run 944 turbo brakes, make for the ultimate loaf.

got the engine mounted...in the right position anyway.

question, is that a subaru engine in a porsche? if so why would you decide to use a subaru engine in a porsche? I'm just curious, I'm not dissing on your car. I have seen a subaru engine in a vw vanagon though thats pretty cool. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1252551

The Subie engines are amazingly durable, and very inexpensive to replace when they wear out. Quite a bit of work to install a water-cooled into a air-cooled application, though. The Subaru SVX 6-cylinder into the water-cooled Vanagon is an amazing upgrade. Twin cam, 16 valve, 10:1 cr, non-interference pistons, 230 hp replacing 80 hp. The Vanagon (with upgraded brakes, etc.) will do 100 mph, or 75 up the steepest Interstate 80 upgrade in the Sierras.

wow...geary sums it all up.

mostly...why not? I don't have the 5 grand for a 912 engine rebuild, but I can sell the core for 1500...it runs, but smokes a little, and needs a good going through. for 1500 I can put a subaru motor in, watercool it with the rad in back (see bbs912.org for details , SE forum, I'm steve d.) and still have enough money to prime, paint, and take my wife out for a nice dinner.

Oops

Should have read 4 cam, 24 valve, not twin cam 16 valve. Had my engines crossed.

Steve, is the Porscharu finished? Pics?

I'm STILL waiting on the harness...it should be here this week...I'm becoming very impatient...it's been a heck of an engineering challenge...

next up is a subaru 360 project (it's a 1968 microcar) with a GSXR1000 engine setup for Dmod autocross.

and porscharu II is in the works.
