VW Tranny in a Porsche?

Ok, I'm looking for a conversion chassis for ElectricPorsche.com. Often I see things like "911, no drivetrain but everything else" This of course, intrests me, because that tends to be cheaper then a full car. I'm wondering, can I toss a VW Beetle transmission in something like a Porsche 911/912? And if so, how hard would it be? (Both to pull off and to do a tranny transplant for a novice like me)

Thanks for your help!

-Jeff

anything is doable.
I have aporsche tranny in my VW soit should work the other way around,

keep in mind that an electric motor puts out peak torque at stall, so even a realativly mild HP electric motor could break your tranny.

biggest pain in converting between vw and porsche tranny is the starter, but with an electric motor that won't be a problem
