Im looking for an exhaust system for a bug with a 914 engine in it. I didn't do the upright conversion. Instead I just cut off the rear apron. The engine is a stock 1.8L 914 engine. I need to know what I can use and where I can find it. All emails are welcome! Thanks, Tim

Hello
As you just have cut the corners then an sleeper look isn´t your goal. Just use an complete early bus or 411/412 system. The muffler will then sit under the bumper. Just make an heat shield so no one will get burnt by touching it accidentally. Parts are easy to find. Avoid to use the 2,0 Bus units as they are very heavy ( unless you ned heat in alaska ) The German Tuner Riecher made this since 1971 and got TÜV approval. If you have money then you can opt for other systems. Mostly hiding the muffler in the wheelweels. Dome are based on tuned port headers and require additional heating. Grüsse |
