300km in a Karman Ghia
I went to the porsche factory for a tour and to drop off a car to be restored and I met a gentleman named Jochen..we started talking about cars and he asked if I had a few free minutes to see the car he built..well...I wasnt expecting what I saw it was an absolutely amazing Karman Ghia wth a porsche motor..we went for a ride on the autobahn where there is no speed limit...300km we hit in a matter of no time but it wasnt so much how fast it went but how well it went fast..this car has no aerodynamic aids at all yet it was planted to the road unlike most of the porsches ive driven at those speeds...this car is truly an engineering marvel...

Did you take any photgraphs or ask him about the various things he has done to the car to get it where it is today? I have a beautiful Karmann Ghia money pit that is awaiting a reasonable engine transplant.

I'd be curious, too. While I've seen some very quick drag Ghias, I have to wonder about the high speed aerodynamics of the relatively bulbous nose.

the karmann outperforms my c1 varioram conversion and also my chipped 993. the n/a 3.6 engine produces 330 hp only via cams and cup brain. the full cage plus mcpherson front axle does the rest .... won many competitions against serious racers over here. |
Seen pics of that car, simply beautiful
