Wheel stands VW vs 911
I understand the 911 a whole lot better than the VW so humor me. Other than the obvious weight differences (offset by a worse weight bias, more torque and more tire) why do VW's pull wheel stands so much easier than 911's? I ask this because a lightweight swb 911 7:31 geared with little gas would seem to be prone. Is it suspension design, polarity of weights, gearing, frequency of rotation, simple spring rates or what? I realize that 911 aren't drag cars, but we've all seen the heavy hitters that wheel stand but they tend to be 3,000+ pound 700+hp turbo cars. How's a 270hp 3.6 with deep gearing, setup as a swb R at 2,000 lbs do? Little off topic but the Ghia standing up made me re-ponder this question.
