1972 Super Beetle (1302) with 944 suspension...

The time has come to drag my very first car out of the storage locker I've left it in for the past 25 years and "restore" it.

I've got a few 924 and 944 parts cars laying around and I've read (somewhere, long ago) that 944 rear control arms will bolt into my Super Beetle? Can anyone confirm or deny this? Can anyone tell me how it's done if it is possible?

Here's the plan: - stock white exterior with a subtle color change to 1964 356 ivory white; 1975-9 Super Beetle rack and pinion steering; 2.4L big bore/long stroke 914 Type 4 (already built); 944 brakes hiding behind widened 912 steel wheels; 924 front seats; Golf 2 rear seat upholstered to match; Momo Prototipo with Wolfsburg horn button...

i would have to ask why about the rear control arms ? as for the seats i installed A1 vw gti seats in my 73 beetle i hade to modify the upper rear seat by cutting 2 inches off the sides on the tops . as for the front seats i had to cut the rear sliders and move them in on the front seats to make them fit .

I'm doing a 71 super vert, and just installed some 17"chrome turbo twists, and now the brakes look tiny with all that rim, so I'm looking into 944T brake conversion. There is a place in Canada that makes parts to do the conversion. Using the rear trailing arms will push out the rear tires, the amount it pushes it out depends on the year of the trailing arm. Check out this site:
