3.0 off-road car - how to wire distributor ?

Hello - i need some advice on how to hook up the distributor for an off road car (without spending a fortune). This is a 3.0 from 1980. I see the distributor has a plug with 2 connections. I was thinking (hoping) that i could hook it up the same as i would do for a 4-cylinder, but someone was telling me that it would not work with-out an ignition box and they suggested an msd box (but didn't know which one). All help would be appreciated. Thanks ! Chris

An 1980 motor is from an SC so a CDI is needed to have spark.MSD sells also ingintion modules but are more expensive. If you take a look in the 911 parts classfieds there is CDI boxes for sale often. Also moy might post this also at 911 technical forum many experts there.

Good luck Tasos

If you have some time please post a pic ?
