Audi/VW 1.8t in the 914. Will it work?

Virgin post for me, this is actually exciting.
I have a '73 914 with the 1.7, which sucks because 16yrs
ago I had a '72 w/ the 2.0 (& the shifter) from a '73.
Youth = too many speeding tickets/ Sold it.

While I love the sound of the '6', I also don't want a chevy motor powering my 914.
I've been looking at other German motors. (the 200hp toyota turbo MR2 eng sounded good for awhile)

After thinking about the 5cyl Audi 200Q motor and the VW vr6, 2 friends have them & love them,
I am now considering the 1.8t, from either the Audi A4 or one of the cars that vw puts it in.
With just a few mods, I'd Not only have 200hp, but Reliability & late 90's technology.
Wouldn't that be a good thing?

Your thoughts/comments/concerns are greatly appreciated.

Those 5 cylinder audis make a great noise.

A interesting engine swap (also with a great sound) I found on the net the other day is the Subaru flat four turbo - looks quite complicated though.
