That looks great! In addition to the swap kit what else would you suggest purchasing from renegade. I figured the gauge senders would make things easy. Is the modded wiring harness worth it?

i purchased my motor from mast motorsports and they have their own ecu. i purchased my wiring harness from them. i also used livorsi gauges which are tied into the ecu for certain functions. using the renegade wiring harness and senders should make it easier to convert. in my first conversion i used north hollywood to change my gauges and senders. i later converted the carburator over to mass flo efi.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1397903037.jpghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1397903125.jpg

Looks great! I just ordered the basic swap kit. Once I get it and go over everything I'm going to decide which other options to order from them.

Bumping an old thread.

Has anyone successfully used the boxster or other radiator set ups from water cooled 911s on their LS swaps?

I know Toy Jet and I know his radiator works fine, plus you can remove it and put your original lid back on. The renegade radiators are stupid expensive. They used to be made by Ron Davis until they had a falling out.

I have a SBC in my 914 with a Griffin rad and meziere 55gpm pump. It takes forever to get hot (no thermostat) but it just keeps getting hotter. The good thing about an electric water pump is it can run with the engine off, motor cools down QUICK. being a SBC it requires the pump with 2 1" outlets for the front of the block, LS motors use 1. meziere says you can't pump water too fast through a radiator. i am not sure that is %100 true because heat transfer is no instantaneous.

I had bought a belt driven unit from Renegade, it is some sort of Chrysler 440 marine unit and Renegade WOULD NOT tell me how much it can pump. Didn't work.

I am sure there is some speed/RPM where electric is best and some where mechanical is best. My next step is to add a air purge system like Mercedes has used for years. Most people say air in the system is a killer.

I can see that. Contacted RH about 928 conversion kit. Left such a nasty taste in my mouth I built my conversion from scratch. Most of his parts that he sells are not really custom either, go figure. As in Chevy truck clutch disc, ls1 PP, H2 hummer pilot bearing. List goes on and on.
I'm kinda curious as well if anyone has done the dual radiator set up as well. Just looks like a a single inlet/return that is split off into two. More compact then a big a$$ radiator taking up the whole trunk.

I would guess the difference between dual rads and a single, is the total surface area available for cooling.
