How to install a VW engine into a 356A
 

I need to know how to install a VW engine into my 356A.. Hope that someone know how to do this. Thanx

Please clarify what VW engine
Implanting a type 1 is easy.
Major problems are shrouding, exhaust/heat and throttle linkage.

Also you have to check the clutch/TOB for match.

I will be installing a type 1 engine and will not be connecting the heater sys to the car again. I am also upgrading to a 12 volt electrical sys., and flywheel. but thanx for the reply

Hello

Just keep the old parts from the original engine so you can reswap easy.

Most bug starter fit into a 356 trany just keep in mind that you have the correct starter for the flywheel and check the bushing for the starterdrive in the trany. There are different sizes possible.

Also check if your pressure plate is usable with the TOB.
