My opinion.. it could be a tough sale, but then again the right-guy may come along and jump on it like a hobo on a samich! Its a toss-up and timing is everything.

Pricing is gonna be all over the board because its an SC converted to a Turbo. Some could care less because its obviously a fun car with interesting goodies. I also at one point had an SC that had been converted in a similar manner (not the color combo) but to a turbo. I ended-up parting it because I couldn't get a fair number... but again, timing and that was a different time, and of course, not even suggesting you should go that route

I do think BaT would be a good place to go auction.. lots of impulse buyers, along with one hell-of-an informed peanut gallery make for interesting numbers! I've seen a lot of cars sell there for waaay more than they should have.. which I think is to everyone's advantage who is looking to sell.

Good luck!

Original style black steering wheel, shift knob, door lock wheels, & black speaker covers are cheap fixes and will probably bring thousands in returns on BAT. Also throw a classic looking head unit in if possible.

Ex: https://www.ebay.com/i/163003583266?chn=ps

Black gauges are probably costly and time consuming but would also change the look which caters to the majority of the buyer pool.

Best of luck with sale.

They are 930 brakes, they're obviously painted since they come from the factory in black but thats not a big issue. They're a very nice upgrade.

Does the car have a 915 gearbox or something else?

It says a 930 4 speed tranny at the top of the thread. It sure looks like this conversion was done properly, as most kept the 915 box.

JMS.... thanks.

I agree, this appears to be a very well done conversion.

There is a turbo conversion, and then there is this...a protomotive/prototech conversion, the former is something that could be done right, while the latter is destroying the car imo. I’ve seen far too many of these at my mechanic being stripped of their protomotive/prototech parts, he makes a sh/t ton of money thanks to these two shops knowing how to kill a 911/930. I think 85k for this is smoking some serious crack by the seller, and there’s no way I believe it only has 4300 miles on it with all of this work done to it. You don’t spend this kind of money modding a car just to make it a garage queen, that doesn’t add up to me.

If you offered me one of these two cars, a pick em so to speak...this black car or the OP’s conversion, I’d pick the OP’s car without question.

I know its not a great comparison but its a conversion. The point was, its hard to price a conversion. Is the seller of the black car too high? Maybe. That's a lot of car for that money. The description posted also does not give a whole lotta details.

Fortunately I don't have the make a choice between the two. They both make some very compelling cases for what they are. I think the OP's car would be easier to live with. It really depends on how you want to use it.... If you held a gun to my head, I would probably buy the OP's car first. Lose the dial of death, swap some of the interior bits and drive it,,,, a lot.

Yes, a 930 4 speed sn#77F0068 with LSD, a 1984 model I believe.
