I would say the guy who pays ‘all the money’ for a hotrod 911 is a wealthy enthusiast who wants a retail ‘boutique’ experience. The car has to be completely finished to a high standard, ready to immediately enjoy and has been thoroughly explained and documented by the seller. It’s his special little toy, unique and hand selected. Having to deal with tying up loose ends, installing a/c, sorting, etc. is aggro he doesn’t want to deal with. This is why Singers are so wildly popular—bespoke and turnkey.

Agreed, but those buyers also want pedigree in terms of the builder. I noticed you mentioned Singer. The buyer who is contemplating a Singer wont be considering this car. Additionally the OP isn't trying to get Singer money. The only thing this car needs is great pics and a well thought out ad. Kinda funny, the OP just wanted an opinion on the value of his car and its morphed into he needs to add a/c and tons of other things to get it to Singer quality before he can sell it. LMAO.

And you guys have just nailed down part of why this car doesn’t need AC. It’s not “bespoke”, it’s built. It’s not a $200k car. It’s not a $100k car. It’s 100 hours or more of fettling to being a 100k car and there’s no return to the seller on doing much of any of it. Don’t leave the obvious and niggling things undone. Button it up as best you can, snap good shots, and let the auction fly.

Keyboard histrionics aside he says he wants 80. Big number for a built-to-one-guy’s-taste toy. I ain’t seeing 80 but hopefully am proven wrong.
