Yep. If seller's will only net MSRP (give or take) at the major auction houses, it's probably not too long from them actually trading there outright. I bet there are some very underwater dealers right now on the R...

Might even argue it is a better car with upgrades to motor.

And yet the measly 375k is still a good 50k, maybe 100k off the market. Damn that multiple contraction on the 911 R...

Asking 300k prior to the big auctions this weekend should definitely put a ceiling on the 911 R’s going to auction. At this rate I might be able to trade one of my 930s for one in a couple of years. Lol

^^^ The problem I have with that car is I would have no idea I just saw a 911R.
Itís just meh looking. Basic looking is not what someone wants for $300k

When thereís so much premium put on a pair of stripes it sure seems like a marketing gimmick. Doesnít it? And apparently the gimmicky fad of it all is losing its luster, I bet these will be obtainable under their MSRP sooner rather than later.

You can spot a GT3 easy. And a GT3RS is super aggressive and you know that car means business for around $200k +/- $50k. But the 911R looks like a basic 911. Right?
People want high style to go with the high price.

If it weren’t for the corner markers you wouldn’t likely notice a 67R either. The car was a retro minimalist project which appealed to a small group, the same group that doesn’t want to drive a GT3 because it is so noticeable. It’s a failure because speculation took over and they didn’t usually land in a driver’s hands. Watch the Pat Long and Jack Olsen videos of them driving it with Porsche. It’s a very good car, all go and no show. But most definitely not double GT3 money. That’s stupid. They are $150-175 cars in the real world.

I agree.
My point was the majority of the people that can comfortably spend $300k+ on a car want people to know they have money.
They use the same thought process when buying watch...

The 930 is the maximumďLook at Me!Ē car that Iím comfortable driving.
The fact I have done all the wrenching and itís near 40 years old outweighs the flash.
