Very few things surprise me.... a few disappoint me....

The beauty of the 78 to 89 cars is they are so repairable.

I have had to deal with significant rust in a 1969 & 1973 911s. Initial restoration expense was high and given I like to drive; I had to repeatedly rust repair both of them. Rust really does not sleep on cars used in the northeast.

This pushed me to completely galvanized cars. I have had a few..... (2) G50, (4) 915, (1) 3.0, (4) 3.2, (1) 3.6, Full hot rod, mild mods, stock, Convertible, S/R coupe, targa, slick top, LSD, full leather, partial leather, sport seats, couches, SC, Carrera & turbo brakes, Brembos..... updated AC, repaired AC and removed AC. Definitely an ADD checkbook custodian (enthusiast?) who likes to get them to a point then find another. Never had to rebuild or do a major repair to an engine. All my 911s tended to be in the $45 +/- $5,000 range after my sorting. My opinion is they are bullet proof especially the 3.2s. I have beaten on them without mercy. My biggest issue was with seat wear; mostly the wings of the sport seats...... 80,000 mile 911s are just breaking in and 50,000 mile cars are new. Visually and mechanically, I prefer the euro cars which I have yet to own......

When I look at the black 88, I see an affordable driver, which the owner will not suffer excessive depreciation when he sells even after sorting. There will be a cost of ownership but not as excessive as a modern GT 911. Yet, IMO, the fun level can be off the chart with relatively minor cost of operation and service.

LOTS of RNMs this week on BAT.

There's a Ghetto Rat 993 closing in the next hour. Has the crowd become discriminating, or will this go for irrational money?

I rarely go on BaT to just “watch the war” as my dad would say. I’ll watch a single car once in a while. Otherwise I just look at what you all link and discuss. I greatly enjoy your conversations about it. Don’t feel like I need to waste my time watching as I get my full here.

Ah, you're smarter than I am. It's a trainwreck sometimes, and I can't look away.

I'm more risk adverse here. The black G50 88 is one I will never consider without looking close under the hood, so to speak.

BAT is what it is, I enjoy watching it and I sell cars there. Sure I find it crazy some of the prices pay and no I don't care for some of the cheerleading and know-it-alls but that's the internet. Beats Facebook or instawhatever.

That’s Erik Lind aka Captain Kaos. He preps and markets them very well. Just this morning an article on this car hit social media. Doesn’t hurt to have R Gruppe cred too. I haven’t followed Clubsports at all but I can’t see it below $125k.

Driver level, no history but obviously used as Porsche intended for these w/prior work to show for it, repaint .... but it is a CS, so who knows ? That interior itself is worth more for these BAT types.

This is the last "sport tuned" car Porsche sold where the variant is cheaper ! Bones are good.

It's sure getting puffed up by the chat on BaT. You'd think it was an RSR from the chatter. How does this car get registered in CA?

Gotta hand it to you though, really good job on handing out Kool Aide to the Peanut gallery. BAT Makes me realize how simple it would be to run a ponzi scheme.

Why is a very nicely and professionally built 993 “hotrod” ridiculous at $58,000? Think about how ridiculous RWBs and RS/RSR homages go for. Double and sometimes triple. You could not build one for anywhere close to $58k. Today in 2019 I would likely charge very close to if not more than $50k to do just the metal and paint work I did on that car 12 or so years ago. The gentleman that bought it can no longer drive a stick so it’s perfect for him.
