I've ever driven a 914, but I bet their visceralness and soul is off the charts.

If you want to experience maximum visceral, drive one with a tail shifter gearbox (such as a 1971 model) - about 18 inches of lever throw between gears and no real physical sense that a gear has been selected (pretty much shifting by the Force).

And then there's the old joke. I'm getting older, still 57, but they used to say -- 914 was the only mistake Porsche ever made. Is that not a joke or out of vogue? Sorry if I'm out of my element here.

Then heading back to the barn I went for Vmax and it was an aerodynamic brick!

I won the Steve McQueen award this day, for spirited car chase driving, it was both visceral and soul fulfilling.

the 914 is an amazing car. it just needs some help in the HP department.

but i'm biased, as mine will whip most of the 911's out there...

Adam is great fun - bisch likes what he likes, and there's no backing down or ifs ands or buts about it with that Briggs and Stratton powered Porsche lovin' bisch!

pNutz, a more suitable outfit for 914 operation, or co-operation, would be a skirt, blouse, and pumps!

It appears there is a monkey riding shotgun. Where is his helmet? Better don't let the animal rights group see this one!

Might want to get some springs and shocks on that thing Adam. That's an awful lot of body roll for a car that close to the ground to begin with.

Is that Stig with you?

The guy I got it from set up the suspension for autocross, so lots of roll and sway. It makes for a funner ride, believe me. The guy's with the stiff Cayman's were all saying they wished they could roll like the 914 and all the 911's were having to slow to get through the gates, while I was blasting through full speed. 914 at the autocross is guaranteed fun and when you only pay $1500 for the car you aren't worry about pushing it.

You’re all up in arms about the Cayman snob, but methinks you may be the actual Pcar snob.
