1977 911 S valuation help
Hi everyone. Please share your opinions on this car. I am involved with trying to put a value on a project 1977 911S coupe no sunroof 5 speed . This car has not run in over 10 years. However it has always been in a decent and now heated building I am told. I have seen it and it does appear to be very solid. Motor turns over. The previous 2 owners were mechanics. The motor is out and allegedly had chain tensioners done . Also the trans is out and has been apart but no one knows why. The car has a terrible black repaint with large splotches missing in spots. It was brown originally. It appears to be complete with some new trim and new axle parts included. The interior is ok worn. The forged wheels are the original 15 Fuchs. Appreciate the expertise. The car is not officially on the market but I been told to make an serious offer. In this volatile Porsche market place I could use some expert advise. Had camera problems . Dave D

That car wouldn’t last 15 min if it were posted here at $15,000
I bought one on CL 3 years ago exactly like this. 77 911S, crappy black paint job, 15” Fuchs, tired interior, motor and trans out of the car. Motor turns over by hand. It was listed at $12,000. I was the first caller but as soon as we hung up his phone blew up with several people offering several thousands more. I ended up paying $12,500. I’m confident it would have sold the same day for $15,000. That was three years ago.

It’s amazing how close to my car yours is. Looks like the same original color. Definitely the same interior. Only difference is yours is a slick top. Mine will be soon enough as well :

Check the engine type number and serial number to determine exactly what engine accompanies this project as that impacts value...tensioners done but not upgraded to 84+.. does it come with early style heat exchangers? No sunroof is a plus. Floor by pedal area looks pretty clean. from the pictures the tub appears pretty straight. Check the front pan and specifically under the battery area for rust, and behind the lock post / B pillar areas/ rear sway bar mounting area. If none, that's another plus.

$15K low side, $18K tops if you really need to have it. Photo of the engine may even be a 3.0
