Need advice on my Father's car.

I sold my girlfriends cab, same year with a linen interior. Ours was dark blue. It was a solid car, with rebuilt engine, new clutch and top. It was high mileage, and many previous owners. This was right before they started increasing in value. We got 13k, and it didn’t have any rust. I believe we sent it to Arizona. Just our luck, soon after that, the prices went through the roof. Wish we had that car back, as she now has a 996 cab, which is a PITA for me because I have to work on it.

Sounds like you have something of an answer; maybe 40k on the high side if the rust is dealt with, 30ish if sold as is and the rust isn't pervasive. If the rust is bad it could be a lot less. Cabs go for less than coupes or Targas, rusty cars for less than clean ones.

I could be wrong about it’s condition. I’d still like to see it cleaned up, and the seat covers removed, etc. I’ve misjudged a car from a few pictures before.

Guess I overvalue these things. The OP's car looks 'well used', so $35K could be right. I just never could get past a 3.2 for that kind of money. In a warm, sunny climate like Arbee's San Diego, they would never have to put the top up and get a great driving car year round.

I've owned 3 911 Cabs and love them. The weak link is always the cost and quality of replacing the top. Be nice to have one in FLA, but sorry Arbee, my garage is full.

Still, a high quality air cooled Cab for $35K sounds cheap.

My thinking too, plus it’s G50. It’s not an SC cab. Also, my suggested numbers are always a “list it at”, though I don’t always say it that way. I tend to start at 10-15% over what I’m really willing to sell a car for. If someone comes and looks, says it needs, this, this, and that, I’ll give you $37,000, I’m sold.
