Just got it. Pm or email me your phone number and we can talk. It’s the easiest way to answer your questions.

Car is sold. Pelican has come through yet again. I’ll leave it to the buyer to speak up if he feels like it, but I believe the car is going to get gone through and “done”. I know people will ask, and I’ll I will say is I got over 20.

matt930s 04-19-2021 04:33 PM

Congrats Matt!

Buyer here. SmileWavy Looking forward to getting the car and digging into this project. I already contacted a shop in my area with a Celette who specializes in 911s to get the bulk of the repairs done. After that I may just slap the rest of it together and drive it for a little bit before going down the slippery slope that I have been down before.

Thanks again Matt for working with me on this deal.

Matt Monson 04-24-2021 12:35 PM

All dressed up and nowhere to go.

matt930s 04-24-2021 12:45 PM

Did it not sell?

Matt Monson 04-24-2021 02:23 PM

Oh no, not at all. It’s just back on the fat Fuchs after being on roll around 195s for the last few years. And front bumper.

I’m packing it up and getting it ready to go this weekend.

matt930s 04-24-2021 03:53 PM

Love that color....

Matt Monson 04-24-2021 04:25 PM

Me too. If it were a targa it wouldn’t be leaving.

Unobtanium-inc 05-18-2021 10:35 AM

Here is the 74 I referenced earlier, we will see what it brings.

I thought about keeping this one, 74 is my birth year and silver over black would match the 993, but I already have 4 projects, 2 I'm knee keep in and 2 I haven't started, so I figured I didn't need a 5th. But I might regret the decision.

javadog once said in my regard, too many projects means something doesn't get done. I'd guess you know that already. Still I'm always spread too thin houses or cars. Try to keep them all just because I love each one whether monetary or not. May not be able to keep them all, can't take on another either. What happened to javadog? Haven't seen him around these parts for ages.

Adam uttered to me a year ago, when I asked him if he had any clues to help me sell my 69 911E -- I can't help you. I love 911's, but 356's are more profitable!

Just to clarify some things with facts before too many assumptions are made...

If you remember a couple of pages back I purchased the car from Matt. It arrived last week and after taking into account the toll of a full project like this I decided it was more than I can handle at this time.

Josh is a good friend of mine and he helped me pull the motor today and get the car in roller status to try and recoup some of my money. We went over the car together briefly and he offered to help me sell the chassis as a roller casually on Facebook.

He assumed it was a clean title and it was an honest mistake. We are not trying to sell the car as a clean title.

There is nothing nefarious going on here and will update the ad accordingly.

Matt Monson 05-21-2021 05:17 PM

Robert knows this is a rebuilt from salvage title. I don’t think he’s trying to wash it or anything else funky. His friend just didn’t know.

matt930s 10-29-2021 05:45 AM

What happened to the pretty blue roller?

Dan J has it.

MAH77 10-29-2021 06:10 AM

I'd love to know the math on how paying over $20k and then selling the roller with fuchs for $10k isn't putting someone in the hole?

You don’t think a core 3.2, a 915, a set of sport seats, and a pile of other parts isn’t worth $10k?

I’d take that list of parts for 10k everyday.

Yeah, but you guys are missing the larger point. No one buys a car, ties up the money, ships a car across the country, to break even. There are easier ways to make a little bit of money like that, try T-Bonds.

When someone buys a project, intending to build it, and bails, the only goal becomes breaking even.

Sorry, I thought flipping it was his plan all along, didn't realize he got cold feet on the car. Yes, in that sense if you can get our alive, more power to you.

After I took about a $6000 scalping on the car, I really hope he managed to break even. I didn’t.

I guess it depends how much more than $20k he paid and the condition of the other items listed. I hate dealing with selling individual parts, so that sounds like misery to me to make maybe a couple of grand.
